The theme for this year’s Easter Camp, which is held annually at Kirkwood near Port Elizabeth, is “A Fresh Start”. The speakers are Ray Befus from a Vineyard Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the United States, and Flemming Molhede from Copenhagen Vineyard, Denmark.

If you are only coming on board now, welcome to our 2nd annual 40 Days of Prayer. During this period we are encouraging everyone throughout the Vineyard family in South Africa to devote themselves to a special season of prayer - for our movement, our country and our continent. We are also suggesting that Thursdays be set aside as a day for fasting and corporate prayer, but we would also encourage you to use these outlines by yourselves, in small groups, and wherever else you have the opportunity. The leadership of the Karen Vineyard in Nairobi, Kenya are searching for a pastor.

The church started in 1995 and has a congregation varying between 250 and 350 of whom more than half are from an expatriate background (business or missionary). It meets in a school hall (there are tentative building plans). The Church has strong links with Vineyard churches in South Africa, the USA and the UK.

Following the success of our first national 40 days of prayer in 2007, the National Leadership Team felt to continue the call to prayer and consider this a regular event. Many of you are aware that Easter comes early this year (21-23 March) and as a result the period of 40 days starts next Wednesday 6th Feb, and runs to 23 March, not counting Sundays. (more…)
